Nestled in between Batu Balong beach and one of the main streets of Canggu is the breathtakingly beautiful boutique hotel Tugu. I was honoured to stay at hotel Tugu during my stay in Canggu for two days, experiencing all that it has to offer. And I can honestly say it was probably my favourite stay from my Bali trip which is saying a lot since Bali is filled with beautiful accommodation. But in a place like Canggu where western influences are taking hold more and more each season, Hotel Tugu manages to still capture the authentic Bali.
Checking in was made super easy by the lovely staff who took the time to provide us with whatever your heart desires welcome drinks (I got my favourite, watermelon juice!) and give us a personalised tour around the property. With a combination of romanticism and old worldyness the architecture of the hotel is insanely gorgeous. Also, not only is it a hotel but it also acts as a museum holding the biggest collection of Indonesian art and artefacts.
I was taken aback by all this and we hadn't even got to our room yet. So, Hotel Tugu has 21 rooms in total and split into different types of styles. Ours was named the Rejang suite - you can check out the others over at their website here! But I'm pretty sure they're all fit for a King given the size and grander of them. Only issue was the the room was probably a bit too romantic for three girls who are just friends!
If you're not stuffed from the epic breakfasts (that are served all day by the way) and the complimentary afternoon tea then theres Ji Restaurant at the hotel which provides a blend of Asian inspired dishes. I think it might have been the best sushi of my life. Even if you're not going to stay at the hotel, you can still visit the restaurant. Make sure to grab a seat on the terrace over looking the sea!
